Comedian Bill Dana became a 1960s pop-culture sensation with his creation of the sweetly lovable Jose Jimenez on The Steve Allen Show and The Danny Thomas Show. The tremendous success of the Jose character led to THE BILL DANA SHOW (NBC-TV, 1963-65), an Emmy-nominated situation comedy from executive producers Sheldon Leonard and Danny Thomas (The Dick Van Dyke Show). In THE BILL DANA SHOW, good natured but naive Jose Jimenez serves as a bellhop at New York’s Park Central Hotel, managed by Mr. Phillips (Jonathan Harris, Lost In Space).
