Shaka Zulu: The Complete Miniseries (DVD)

Set in early nineteenth-century Africa, this landmark ten-part miniseries chronicles the rise of Shaka, the warrior-king who transformed scattered tribes into the powerful Zulu nation. Born into disgrace and marked by prophecy, Shaka revolutionizes warfare, builds a disciplined army and confronts tribal rivalries, political intrigue and the growing ambitions of European colonial powers. Newly restored in high definition from original 35mm elements, the complete nine-hour epic combines large-scale battle sequences with a detailed portrayal of Zulu society, ceremony, kingship and military organization.
